First Anniversary and Acknowledgement

O'Rourke, Peggy (nee McGroarty)

In loving memory of Peggy, whose First Anniversary occurs on 24th July 2020. Much loved, greatly missed and always remembered by her husband John, her children, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sister, brothers, extended family and friends.

At this time her family would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with us and offered their support and kindness over the past year.  Thank you to all those who visited with us, attended the funeral, sent flowers, Mass cards, letters and messages and who generously shared their memories of Peggy with us.  Thanks to Fr John McCarthy, the sacristan, the organist and the soloist, John Daly, who provided such a beautiful funeral Mass.  We would also like to acknowledge and thank James Cahill Undertakers for their thoughtful and professional services.

We would like to convey our sincere thanks to Dr Pat Kennedy and the management and staff of Glendonagh Nursing Home, Dungourney, who showed great care and compassion to our beloved mother in her final weeks. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the wonderful multi-disciplinary team in St Joseph's Ward in Mercy University Hospital who cared for Peggy for several weeks prior to her discharge to Glendonagh. Particular thanks to Anne Healy, Patrice Burnes and Eileen Looney, their professionalism and kindness at a difficult time will always be appreciated.

We would also like to acknowledge the excellent care which Peggy received during her time as a resident at Cobh Hospital, care which continues to be extended to our dad, John.  Sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of the staff.  We will always be grateful for the time, care and attention extended to our parents by Dr Harry Kelleher. We would like to sincerely thank all those in the locality who showed kindness and went out of their way to look out for and assist our parents when they were resident in the Park Road Centre.  Special thanks to Margaret (Mags) McCarthy Jones,  John Meade, the staff of the Park Road Day Centre, Ger Curley and his staff in his grocery shop at the time.  As it is difficult to mention everyone individually, please accept this ackowledgment as a token of our grateful appreciaton.

An anniversary Mass will be held for Peggy in St Colman's Cathedral on Saturday, 25th July 2020, at 10am. For those wishing to attend but cannot do so due to current restrictions, the Mass will be streamed live on www.cobhcathedralparish.ie
