Brigid Kavanagh
(née Heneghan)

Brigid Kavanagh (nee Heneghan), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and formerly of Corbally Cummer, Co. Galway. Peacefully in her 86th year on October 7, 2024.

 

Bridie as she was affectionately known was daughter of the late Jimmy and Ellen Heneghan was predeceased by her husband William P Kavanagh and her by her parents, and brothers Paddy and Johnny.

 

Bridie enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and keeping up to date on all current events after spending many years caring for children in New York. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church Astoria, New York.

 

Bridie is survived by her son Peter Gavin, daughter in law Ann, grandchildren Majella, Paul, Conor, Colin. great grandchildren Eoin and Ava. sister Marie and brother-in-law Pat. sister-in-law Margaret. brothers Martin, Michael and sister-in-law Ann. Brian and sister in law Mary, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

 

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

 

There will be a viewing on this Friday, October 11, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania: with a Catholic prayer service beginning at 2:30 which Father Williams officiating.

 

Bridie will be laid to rest in Ireland at a later date.
