Canon Philip Connolly
The peaceful death has occurred of Rev Canon Philip Connolly retired PP. of Annyalla, Clontibret and Doohamlet parish. July 5th 2023 in the loving care of the staff at St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan. Formerly Drumod, Latton, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary Elizabeth Connolly, Brothers Jim, Matt, Pete and John, Sisters Nan, Ena, Josie, Cassie, Angela and Madge. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his family Brother Rev Fr. Vincent (Magherarney), Pat (Carrickmacross), sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, and a large circle of friends, Bishop Larry Duffy, and all the priests of the Diocese of Clogher where he ministered. A special thanks to his carers and housekeepers.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home, Cootehill, Co. Cavan (Eircode H16 FD25) on Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Funeral cortege leaving Funeral Home on Thursday at 4 pm to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Annyalla where Canon Philip will repose from 6pm. Requiem mass on Friday morning at 12 noon, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Anyone wishing to leave a message for the family may do so in the condolence section below please.
