So sad to hear this news. Michael was a treasured friend throughout our teenage years and we kept the thread of connection on and off ever since. It was great to see him and meet Elaine in the home of comedy the Edinburgh fringe over the years. He will leave a big gap in the lives of all those he met.

Michael was a brilliant, lovely human being and I feel honoured to have spent some time with him in London and Edinburgh over the years, a man of great spirit, intelligence and decency. Not to mention hilariously funny. I'm glad I bumped into him again in Edinburgh last Fringe and met Elaine. My heart goes out to you all, this is a sadness upon sadness. much love. Julia

Condolences to Elaine and all Michael's family. Michael was a wonderful Samaritan volunteer who supported hundreds of distressed people during his many years of volunteering. The volunteers in Newry and Dundalk branch are deeply shocked and distressed at his passing.

I saw Michael performing his ‘Blue Sometimes’ show at the Edinburgh Fringe. He seemed like a really cool, friendly and humble chap. I’m sure he would have been great to know personally. No doubt he had plenty more laughs to bring to the world. R.I.P.
