He was always so friendly and helpful when I would go into the shop. Always had time to have a chat when I met him in Colemans getting his paper. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time.

If the gospel parable about the men who received the five and two talents has any traction in the modern world, then Aidan Mc Caul has been 'sainted' immediately on his arrival to the great 'Immortal Kingdom'. When lesser men, particularly a man who had come from the other end of the Country in common with many others, found himself out of work, following the unfortunate closure of Buckley's back in the time, it would have been so easy to fold the tent and move on. Not so, Aidan. He turned adversity to advantage, eastablishing and developing a business which has become a corner stone, in the commercial Street Scape of the town. His soft Cavan accent which he never lost, and reassuring personal touch helped in no small way to build a business which is now a 'go to' for not alone Millstreet people but for those on a much wider hinterland.
While it was known for some time that Aidan was in failing health, every time Aidan was spoken of, it was with the greatest affection, which is rare among business people, as inevitably someones 'corns' will have been stood on at some stage, but not so, Aidan. What a tremendous legasy this proud Cavan man has left to his adapted town. Sleep well Aidan. You've truely earned it. Deepest sympathy to the Mc Caul family both immediate and extended.
