I met Aidan at secondary school, Holy Cross College, Falcarragh more than fifty years ago. He had this wonderful gift of grabbing the attention of whomever he was talking to, and he certainly grabbed mine. Mostly he did this with stories that he had heard from his beloved parents. One of the stories was about a ghost car, “ZP 13”. Aidans gift for storey telling, and wise insight made him a man of great integrity and wisdom. In later life my nephew and niece got to know him and they kept me informed of his love of folk tales and music. You made the world a better place Aidan and that is the most anyone can contribute. My sincere condolences to your family and friends who will miss you terribly.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Aidan. He was a warm and friendly man and always up for a bit of banter, slagging and the craic wherever one met up with him. I have many happy memories of being in his company at the weekly traditional seisiuns in Macs bar where he loved
to listen to the many great musicians who graced that venue down the years, including his two gifted sons, Aidan and Kevin, of whom he was so proud.
