Very very sorry to learn of the untimely and tragic news of Aika's passing. Condolences to Mayumi, her two loving brothers', extended family and friends. May She rest in peace with her Dad.

It makes no sense to lose such a wonderful young woman with so much promise & joy as she should of had her whole life to live ahead of her. I am lost for words. Aika will never be forgotten! Thinking of you Mayumi, Makota &,Takuya.

She was the most kind, loving, caring and most amazing child minder I could ever ask for
Now I’m 15 and didn’t see Aika in a long time, but I will always consider her my friend💙
I was devistated, and still am about her loss. I will miss Aika so much and I will always remember the joy she brought, along with that ever lasting smile. Yesterday, at the church I managed too say “Goodbye, my friend” before i left the gates

Aika this is for you:
It will take me ages too get used too knowing you are no longer with us. I don’t think I will ever get used too it. Without you my life would be so different, everytime you looked after us you only brought joy and happiness. You were the best example of someone with a personality waiting too go off. I will always miss you.

I’m still in disbelief of her tragic passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and closest friends. Aika truly changed my life and showed me guidance during a dark moment in my life, even though we just became friends. She was an amazing human being, who brought fun and happiness wherever she went. I’ll miss her so much. May she rest in paradise.

I am so saddened to hear of the loss of this beautiful, vibrant young lady. I am a friend of Canara’s since childhood. When Aiko spent time in New York, Canara reached out to me . I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon having lunch and chatting with her.,while we sat near a park , overlooking the New York skyline. She was lovely. I know in that one day ,what an impression she made on me , so I know how much she will be missed by all of you. My prayers for all who knew and loved her. Debbie

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Aika’s passing. I met Aika on the J1 in San Francisco three years ago. She was such a positive and joyful person, I will always remember how kind she was.

We have such wonderful memories of a little 5 year old Aika; full of fun and mischief. She was so loved by everyone who met her and she will be greatly missed.

Aika was such a lovely person too everyone. When my siblings and I were too young too be left alone, Aika looked after us for our parents. She was still studying at that time, I didnt speak too Aika in a long time but I will miss her so much! RIP Aika!!

Aika worked with us in the lab at NUIG during her Masters last year, and it truly saddened us to hear this news. Aika was always positive and friendly and made many friends in our lab and it was a pleasure to work with her.
