The passing of Áine, my ex- sister-in -law at the end of a long and difficult year for the entire family has brought a deep sadness not only into my life but that of my four sons, Áines nephews. Godson Keith together with his wife Andrea, Ian, Derek together with his fiancée Catherine and Shane will all miss her hugely. They were on their way to visit me on Sunday when news of her passing reached them and I was touched to hear that they stopped off in church to light candles for her.

Áine was a wonderful warm lady and held a special place in my heart for over forty years and in that of my sons for their entire lives.

Deepest sympathies to my ex-husband Michael on the loss of his only sister, to Bernard on the sad loss of your wonderful wife and to my nephews Paul and family, Niall and family, Helen and family and Claire on the loss of such a loving and always devoted Mother.

Áine, rest in peace and may you experience a happiness that is beyond our comprehension.
