Alan (Al) Redmond

Very sad to hear about Alan’s untimely passing. Always really enjoyed his company, fantastic nature and ability to have a laugh. He certainly brightened my day in all interactions I had with him - true gentleman. Deepest sympathy to his family at this sad time.

I know Alan from ESB Gateway Building, he always had a giggle with all people in the building, loved discussing the weeks sports with him from the Dubs winning all Ireland last year, to rugby disappointment at the worldcup.. He will be missed.......

Rip to the best uncle there could be. He was the most loving and caring uncle there was. Anything I needed done in my room he would be up the next day with his tools. He made the best food and taught me all I needed to know for cooking in school. I’ll miss you so much and our bond we had doing all these nice things. I’ll remember all our nice memories since I’m a baby right up till now (22) I’m so greatful for you and thank you for always taking my side and also being another father figure to me xx you were the best dad. My heartfelt condolences to all of Alans family. While I have only known Alan more recently, he was such a joy to meet, so full of energy and always made the day brighter. Keeping you all in our thoughts at this sad time.

I had the privilege of working with Alan at ESB. Everyday I would have my breakfast and lunch in his canteen...Working away from home, was like being at home when Alan was around. We would talk about all sorts of things: his time in London during the 80's, his beloved Leeds Utd, the Dubs winning again and again, what makes a good pint. He was always generous, courteous, had a wild sense of humour, gentle and kind. A true one of a kind and I for one will really miss him. All is well and all will be well

Our hearts are broken. He was a big brother and only a phone call away. Made the best Sunday dinners. Nobody could ever replace him.
