One of life’s true gents, with the warmest of nature. I have fond memories of Alan from childhood and was so grateful to him for making the trip to be at dads 80th last year. Deepest condolences to all the Hill family.

Our condolences to Adrian and all family members. I met Alan when Tony first dated me back in the late 60s. We used to visit often which usually included visiting a local pub. Then there were boating trips, spanish holidays and other memories like the time he helped find a home for us. He also "entertained" our children for a week when Tony surprised me with a holiday. So many memories of a very good friend. Rest in peace Alan.

I have fond memories of Alan, particularly his dry sense of humour. Always a pleasure to be with, & to chew the fat after a game. A true gentleman.

Alan and I grew up together from the age of 3 or 4 years. So I knew him for 70 plus years. He was a great friend who really put himself out last year to attend my 80th birthday here in Wiltshire. His passing will be a great loss to all his family and friends. Rest in Peace Alan. Gone but not forgotten.

Alan was a top man. One of the nicest and gentlest people you could ever meet.

Alan, you were a wise Gentleman, a very good friend and a huge asset to Minety Rugby Football Club. The Club survived in difficult times because of your advice. I am sure we will raise several glasses to you at the club very soon. My sincere condolences to Adrian and the rest of the family.

Condolences to all his family and friends. He will be sadly missed. I remember him well from my earlier days at Minety RFC, an all round good guy, RIP my friend.

To Adrian and all of the Hill family, I was so sorry to hear this very sad news, it saddened me more that I didn’t see Alan for several years, I enjoyed his company and wit immensely.

A good man, a great club man, great company, a great tourist and a big part of my earliest Minety RFC memories from 1981 on. RIP Alan and thank you.
