Dear Mary,

Unfortunately I was unable to attend at Albert’s funeral. I don’t know if you remember me but Al and myself were very close pals while growing up in Pearse Villas and I have many happy memories of our various adventures together. Unfortunately as life would have it, our paths diverged in our early twenties and we each followed our own separate lives. I was so so sorry to hear of Al’s passing this week and would like to offer you and your family (and Al’s family), my deepest sympathies.

Goodbye Al, my old friend and may you rest in peace.

Yours sincerely,

Ger Kestell

To Mary and all the Young family. I am so sorry to hear of Albert’s passing. We grew up together in Pearse Villas and played alongside each other on Dun Laoghaire Fire Brigades team in the early 1970s. Albert was also one of my groomsmen at our wedding 47 years ago. While we haven’t seen each other for a long time now, Alberts name would crop up a lot in discussions with my immediate family in remembering stories of our times running around together in our youth. May Albert rest in peace.
