Very sad to hear of the passing of Alfie I have found memories of him as at the age of 7 I used to carry his aer lingus training bag home for him from training in the Gaelic grounds on a Tue and thurs nights he would be going out.as it would be dark I would keep it in my house in the Dale and leave it up to his house on the way to school next morning a truly lovely man you will be truly missed on the mount RIP Alfie

He was a good neighbour and a gentleman who had time for others. Alfie will be missed by all up the mount and is fondly remembered by the Sheeran family and the Kelly clan. Every story I heard about the Mhuire's when I was growing up appeared to always include Alfie.

Alfie was a true gentleman he played a very important part in the wining of the Senior Football All-Ireland of 1957, He was major player with his Club. In 1957 I was at boarding school in Mallow listening to the radio I was the only one from Louth . I remember most of the game but particularly when the goal was scored to win the game. I was Louth GAA County Secretary up to the convention in December 2019 and I am still on the management committee.
