my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your lovely Mum Alicia.
So many happy memories of being in your house in Ballinteer, and later in Monkstown, where your Mum always showed such kindness to this young kid growing up with Ronan.
Although we could not be at the funeral, we watched from afar, and were with you all in spirit. What you all said was so touching, and a truly fitting celebration of such a wonderful woman. The manner in which you said it though, speaks volumes of how she raised you, and there is no doubt, the reflection of her lives on in all of you.

She was a strong and formidable feminist who worked tirelessly for the principles and causes in which she believed. Alicia was a very warm, caring person, full of fun and laughter. Alicia was a great colleague, very warm and full of humour. She was highly committed to the causes she believed in and could always be relied on. We will greatly miss her.

Alicia was a truly wonderful person and always a fount of wisdom and inspiration. She was kind and thoughtful and most importantly someone who lived as she believed. She adored her family and talked about them often, so much that you believed you knew them too. She had a wonderful career in striving for social change, her stories about the divorce referendum campaigns for example and many others such as the South African struggle against apartheid were captivating. All the people she knew and battles she fought, a life well lived. May she rest in peace.

Aoife and Liz, I'm so sorry to hear that your lovely mother has died. She sounded like such a force for good, with a passion for life, who inspired and grew such wonderful people. Wishing you and all your family all my love, Sorcha.

I feel so lucky to have had such an amazing Aunt. Welcoming, enthusiastic encouraging and generous. Alicia was always ready to share precious early memories of our grandparents I was so eager to hear, but also genuinely interested in our lives and how we were getting on. She inspiring us to be engaged citizens with her drive to improve society and commitment to activism. A force for good leaving loads of positive energy among us along with fun memories. Thanks Alicia.

Ronan, I was so sorry to hear about your mother's passing, she was a kind, humorous and welcoming person. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you and the extended family at this difficult time.

Alicia was a great friend of my mother, Marie Woods. They met when Alicia called to our door canvessing for the Labour party and they stayed friends ever since. A great friendship for many decades. Áine and I enjoyed the chats we had with Alicia in Healthfield road, Terenure. May we celebrate her life tomorrow.

We always enjoyed her company, her good humour and smiles and of course we admired her steadfast loyalty to the Labour Party and progressive causes at home and internationally. So sorry to hear of the death of Alicia. She was a very good and kind neighbour at Clifton Court to my late mother, Mary Duignan, and subsequently to my son Jack and daughter Jenny who both also lived there. I always loved to see Alicia’s smiling face, and her enthusiasm and passion for politics, feminism, and life generally will remain with me. My family sends our condolences to Alicia’s family.
