Very sad to hear that we Brophys have lost Uncle Ambrose and hope he is now with his beloved Auntie Bea and his brother,s and sisters, including our father Malachy. The world has lost a good, kind person, who has thoughtfully left us with very fond memories of him. I was lucky to have had him as godfather. May he rest in peace and continue to enjoy the respect and appreciation he always inspired.

So sad to hear of Amby’s passing, sincere sympathy to the Brophy, Dowling & Dunphy families. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Amby was a very kind man & loved the company of children. Many stories & sporting discussions took place over dinner at Liam & Frances’s & similar on different occasions in Woodlands.

What a gentleman! I had the great pleasure of being his Admin Officer on his first trip overseas as Camp Commandant in UNIFIL HQ., 1982. May Amby Rest in Peace.

RIP Amby, a true gentleman. “Time is the most precious gift you can give someone” he once said to me when my Grandad was ill. Such true words.
