If you are lucky there will be a teacher who inspires you and you will always remember them. Anna Butler was that for me.
To teach tables she drew a clock on the blackboard. She put a number in the middle and and pointed to each digit of the clock. When it came to you, with rising excitement you guessed what the the product of the two numbers was. What a way to learn times tables.
Best of all was her laugh. Back then infectious meant something wonderful.
A lovely woman. A great teacher.
