ANDREW (ANDY) TAYLOR

We learned of Andy’s passing with great sadness. So many people have paid testament to his love of Tramore and his generosity in sharing his knowledge. Indeed this was his hallmark. My parents and my brother, Tony, greatly enjoyed chatting with him during his visits to our shop on the Terrace. A good man has left us and has left us a great legacy in his books. Condolences to Mrs Taylor and Pat.

Sincere condolences to Mrs Taylor & Pat. Andy was such an unassuming man & his knowledge of Tramore & its environs will forever be known through his many books. Tramore has lost a great historian. May your many great memories of him help you now & in the future. Rest in peace Andy.

So sorry for Andy's family on his death. He wasn't just a lovely man he was a great man too.

Only a few days ago I picked up my copy, No. 497 of 500 printed "Tramore of Long Ago", my Dad, Frank bought for me, which I treasure.
Andy's books were a inspiration to our mother in the last few months of her life, for which we will always be grateful.

Meeting Andy was one of the greatest joys of my life. In the brief time I was blessed to live in Tramore our visits were full of stories about family and our history in that sweet town. Kathleen, Pat, Myra, Margaret and all cousins, know we are grieving his loss with you across the Atlantic.

I have great memories of Andy calling to my grandparents house ( Murphy, 8 Old Waterford Road )with his slides & projector when my Aunts & Uncles returned for their annual holidays. Friends, neighbours would come to listen to Andy give his spiel on each & every slide. Those were the days. Rest in Peace Andy.

It is very sad to hear of the death of Andy. Deepest sympathy to Kathleen, Pat and all the extended family. Andy was an extraordinary talented and generous person. Memories go back to Post Office Lane when his mother made balls out of socks so we could play football. Andy always shared his wisdom with us about life and the films and the cinema. He worked for years in the Rex Cinema. He also played a role in the development of the GAA Club in Tramore. Andy also shared his great work and knowledge of the sporting and social history of Tramore through his brilliant books, which he wrote. Tramore has much to be grateful for this tremendous and humble person. May Andy now rest in peace.
