— Breda Murray, Mount Venus Road
To Sarah, Siobhan, Cormac & Cian,
Deepest condolences on the passing of your beautiful Dad Andrew. Like so many others I have many fond memories of your Dad whether he was gardening, in his workshop, cooking or having a chat. He always made you feel so welcome with that great smile of his. So talented and lived life to the full. You are so lucky to have so many precious memories to cherish. The service was beautiful.

Our deepest sympathies to the whole family especially Sarah, Siobhan, Cormac, and Cian as you grieve the loss of your father. I remember Andrew with a smile as I think fondly of tours around his spectacular garden and through his impressive workshop. I remember him busy in the kitchen making beautiful meals, sitting around the table having great conversations enjoying wine and good food, and being an amazing host with his heartwarming and welcoming smile. I think of Ann trying to buy Andrew's woodworking pieces (continually upping the offers) to keep them in the family and Andrew objecting in an attempt to have pieces available for his show for others to buy. The memory of their banter back and forth still makes me laugh. l loved going to visit Ann and Andrew on our trips to Ireland. I am blessed to have his beautiful bowls displayed in my home in Canada - his artwork travelled far and wide. He was so creative and talented. He was a special man and will be dearly missed. With much love, Mary, Veronica, Whitney, and Gordon
— Mary Shier
I had the great pleasure and privilege of providing care to Andrew on a number of occasions. He and I had some great chats about old times as we are both from Sandyford originally. I particularly enjoyed his anecdotes about McGrath horses, with whom I would have had less profitable encounters than Andrew.
My sympathies to his siblings who may also remember me, Fiachra, and the extended family.
— John Leahy
I was very sorry to hear of Andrews passing. I enjoyed many an evenings company with Ann and Andrew in the 1980s. A very special man.

So sorry too to learn of the passing of his wife Ann and son Cathal. Ann and my late wife Bríd, both teachers, were special friends in former years. May they rest in peace.

I remember meeting Sarah's dad Andy when he visited Cali, Colombia many years ago. I shared an evening with him and my parents at our home. He was a sweet and fun gentleman we always remembered fondly from then on.
It was sad to learn just a few weeks ago his health was not good. As the blessing says, until we meet again, may God hold him in the palm of His hand. May he rest in peace and may our Lord give comfort to Sarah, my dear friend, and to all of his family and friends.

To Sarah, Siobhan, Cormac, Cian and family. Please accept our condolences on Andrew's passing. Getting to know Andrew over the years, his knowledge was incredible. He was a true Oracle, a great storyteller and a wonderful gentleman. Our children's memories growing up were of Easter Egg Hunts, playing tennis and exercising a black rabbit in that beautiful garden. For adults, the opened bottle of wine and hospitality enjoyed at the dining room table. We were blessed to be your neighbours. Rest in peace, Andrew.
