Angela was a dear loyal friend of mine for many years. Our friendship spanned my time on Borris Road right up to her time in Kilminchy. She was an iconic figure at Scoil Bhride. When she arrived at first she approached her job with a certain degree of trepidation. However as her job evolved, she embraced it with great determination and really blossomed in the role. She was very light hearted and loved the craic. She had a most distinctive laugh. When Angela laughed the whole school heard it. There were many good days when her loud peeling laughter reverberated through the whole building. She had a great affinity with the pupils. She was particularly kind and caring towards pupils with additional educational needs. She was always cognisant of their varied needs. Angela was very much a huge part of the old Scoil Bhride. It was very fitting that she got to return to the old school before it was demolished to celebrate her 80th birthday with the staff. Rest In Peace dear friend and may God reward you for all your good deeds.
John Fennell Scoil Bhride Portlaoise.
