I had the pleasure of working in the same hospital as Anne in Guernsey in 2002-2003. We weren't on the same ward, but there weren't too many Irish nurses of our age working there at the time, so we knew each other & would socialise with some of the same friends.
I met Ann some years later when she was in the same computer cafe as me & she had her young daughter with her, who was maybe about 6 yrs old or so.

I was deeply saddened to hear about her untimely death and send my deepest condolences to all her family but especially her daughter.

Rest in Peace.

Dear members of the Ann’s family.

Your shock and pain is unimaginable and unreachable by an expression of sympathy no matter how heartfelt.
Please do not allow any disparaging comments from soulless, senseless individuals without any knowledge or understanding of the dynamics within your family distress you all. The public knows that Ann was deeply loved, she had an abundance of support from all of her siblings and mother alike. Ann’s personal journey was sadly out of your hands and control.

I personally understand your pain, heartache, frustration and torment. I have a sibling who is homeless and it’s inexplicably difficult to comprehend the pain knowing that he lives on the streets and from shelter to shelter. His addiction surpasses all other needs and desires in life. The endless rehabilitation programs start out wonderful with great intentions but the reality becomes too much for him and once he launches back into society he routinely falls back into the same trap. My family have done everything and we continue to fight a losing battle.

Please remain united as a family in your grief and know that you did all you could jointly to help her. Ann was a Blessing to those that needed her and sought fulfilling love and kindness from her in their lives on the streets of Dublin, her softness, compassion, jokes, kindness and intelligence was endearing and she has left a legacy for all those that she encountered. Her work as a nurse was carried onto the streets.
— Elizabeth
Heartfelt condolences to Mary and family also Saoirse and extended families on the sad loss of your beautiful daughter.

May the heartache you’re going through right now be eased by the prayers and the high esteem Ann was held in by all who knew her.

RIP Ann
