Some of my early memories are of Aunty Ann (although she hated being called that). The youngest of our Aunts, she had a mischievous sense of fun that was irresistibly attractive to young children and that cheek and ready laugh never left her.

So many stories. So much love and fun. Rest in peace Ann.
— Declan Brennan
I have so many lovely memories. Of the times you cycled in to see me in hospital when I was 5 and spent so many hours trying to take my mind off things. Of the doll you gave me that I named Susan after one of the nurses and you told me to look after so that I would stop feeling sorry for myself. And the times you came to join us for our holidays in Waterford. Of the late nights spent in excited terror while you told us ghost stories about the "green hand" and of course the less impressive time you arrived late at night and banged on the window frightening the life out of us all. I will miss our phone calls and being told off for not sending you pictures of the family. Thank-you for being one of the many Griffins who made our growing up so special and taught us the importance of family.
— Rionne Avis & Family

After reading many of the tributes paid to Ann I scarcely can add anything that would add to the affection that was universally expressed by all . Her interest in people was her main characteristic and this was motivated by her basic humanity which was at the core of her being . She had the ability to question you to expose your personality but only for the sole purpose of helping you to achieve your potential as a human being and maybe getting a laugh from the follies of human nature . You didn’t mind paying that price to see her so exhilarated by the whole encounter of the verbal jousts between consenting adults . Ann will be missed by many but none more so than by her beloved brothers and her extended family who had the shared experiences of a typical family from Tipperary which isn’t called the Premier for nothing . In the midst of your personal grief I know you will find consolation that your youngest sister will have a huge welcoming party and her first words will be ‘ “what’s all the fuss about?” - codlamh samh cailin ailinn !
