Ms Kelly was my first and second class teacher. She was to me what Ms Honey was to Roald Dahl's Matilda. She gave us little notebooks, covered with A4 sheets of white paper, and invited us to design our covers, however we wanted to. When we had finished our work early, we could read a book from the library and then represent it in our notebooks by copying the title and drawing our favourite scene. We were so motivated to read and so mindful as we read, to visualize each scene and select the scene that best represented the entire story, or that was most powerful to us. Ms Kelly was kind, warm, loving and the world of her classroom was always magic and safe. I loved her, as I know we all did. Devastated for her family's loss of such a beautiful soul. RIP Ms Kelly.
— Ciara Redmond
