I am so very sad to hear of Annette's passing. I was lucky to meet Annette through her cousin Mary Anne Sheehan Steinmetz. Annette and I shared a love for our work in public health. I so enjoyed visits with Annette and Ger - both so warm and kind. And, what an amazing couple - you could feel the contentment in their lives. I have fond memories of visiting by their fireplace and having sandwiches in the wee hours. One year Annette and Ger took my husband Dal and me to Wren Day! We had such fun being in the festivities, telling stories and laughing hard. I'm so very sad I won't get to see her again - at least not in this life. She was a special person.

Sitting next to the peat fire (in Annette’s chair!)on Well St surrounded by Annette’s books is my favorite place in Ireland. She had such a great sense of humor! Such a huge loss.
