Anthony (Anto) Kearney

My sincere condolences to the Kearney family on the passing of Anto and thinking of him as we near the end of 2023. I was very saddened and shocked to hear of his sudden passing. I worked with Anto in the Training Unit, DSP. We had great chats and laughs over the years. An absolute legend and a gentleman who we've lost far too soon. I hope they're playing 80s music in heaven tonight.

Hi Anto, discovered yesterday that you passed away a few weeks ago. I have many fond memories of evenings passed talking about music and culture when we shared a house together. You have been a true friend since. You will always be remembered. RIP my friend.

I'm very saddened to have learned earlier today of Anthony's passing a number of weeks ago. What a loss, he was such a lovely man. His very kind and encouraging words put me at ease on my first day delivering FOI training in SDU.

Shocked and saddened to hear the news of Anto's sudden and untimely death. Condolences to the extended Kearney family on your immense loss. Although I wasn't fortunate to have worked directly with Anto, our paths often crossed. Had some great conversations with him - usually about music. His knowledge was incredible. Rest in Peace Anto.

Our paths crossed on and off over many years, from the 80s and the card playing sessions in Scanlons, to his incisive communication when giving courses in SDU, to chatting about comedy and music in more recent times. Incredibly shocked and saddened to hear the news of Anto's passing.

He was a great neighbour, a great conversationalist, and a great friend. I'll cherish all the time we spent together in Lusk over a 10-year period, and I'll smile and remember him anytime I hear a banger from the 80's.

It was great sadness that I learned of Anto's passing. I clearly remember his approachable and and precise Induction Course (SDU) on my first day in the Dept. It was a few years later when I seen Anto again, when working in IB Branch, and his infection enthusiasm for the doing the job properly was one of the good qualities I learned from him. I was sorry to hear he had left IB, and with COVID we all never got to experience his insights again. Sadly missed, and always fondly remembered by all.

A real shock to get the news of Antos passing, it was a pleasure to have known him he could talk for Ireland but it was good to sit with you on our break and talk about music and other things, a man after my own heart for the docs, ill miss seeing you about the office and the slagging, great sense of humour could take and give as good as he got. I have been privileged enough in my life that I counted Anthony as a true friend I met him because I have a son who is also a little person. He came up to Donegal to stay and I have some wonderful memories. I stayed with him a couple of times too. I love that he came to LPI this year. I will miss him so much I feel truly blessed to have known him for the last 21 years and I and my children will carry him our hearts forever. XxX

Its with great sadness we heard the news that Anto had fallen asleep in death. Reading all the many beautiful messages in memory of Anto is so comforting. We remember Anto as a wonderful person.
