Dear Lorna and family,
We only heard the sad news yesterday. I came to know Antony years ago. We often met in the 66A bus, when he joined on his way to or back from Heuston Station.
It was always a pleasure listening to Anthony. I often wondered if there was anything at all that he did not know about railways. But not only that, he was such a nice and kind person.
We know that he will be sorely missed by all who knew him, so the loss will be felt even more by his immediate family.
We offer our heartfelt condolences and would appreciate if we could be told when the commemorative Mass or service will be held,
Rudy and Catriona Jakma, Leixlip

I only knew Anthony a short time from late 2017 when I took up my interest in the IRRS a little more seriously. Anthony was kind enough to show me around the premises and gave me his very personal account of his work that he had carried out there. He was particularly excited at having rescued great swathes of archive material from being dumped at Connolly Station. We also met at several model railway shows and I was always impressed by Anthony's amazing fund of knowledge and his wide circle of friends. The last time I saw him was earlier this year after having heart surgery but he seemed well then. My deepest sympathies to all of his family on such an early demise.

Very sad to learn of Anthony's passing even though he had alerted me to his state of health; I was shocked to view his very long list of medications. Helpful is the the word that always comes to mind when thinking of him and he was very cheerful company. I was impressed by his great interest in his family and always enjoyed meeting his children when he brought them down to the IRRS archives. I am still using the olive oil he so thoughtfully gave me for my ulcers and sore legs!
Sincere condolences to Lorna and his mother and also to his 3 children.
— Herbert Richards, IRRS
