Dear Ruth, Kate and Elizabeth,
I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. He and I worked together at the Bon Secours Hospital every Thursday morning for many years beginning shortly after your mother's untimely death. I enjoyed his company, his stories and good humour but most of all hearing about his devotion to your upbringing and his care for your grandmother, whose hair appointments were always top of the list.
I am very sorry that I cannot join in the celebration on Thursday as I have teaching commitments, but I will be there in spirit.
Kind regards
Ronan O'Connell (President RCSI)
