Sincere sympathies to Tony's family. I first met Tony in 1966 when we started our respective training in Irish Life and although our ways parted in 1968 when I left, we always had great chat and reminiscences of those years when we bumped into each other in the subsequent years. Tony was always a gentleman and is gone too soon. RIP

Condolences to all of Tony’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Tony in Hibernian Investment Managers and you could not help but be absorbed by his energy, friendliness and keenness to ensure a real team approach to the business. I recall even more fondly the many games of golf we shared and what a fierce competitor he was and always plenty of crack over the few pints that inevitably followed! The traits that I always associate with Tony were total loyalty and his genuine interest in one as a person- a rare commodity then and even more so now. RIP Tony - Kevin O Kelly

Truly saddened to hear about Tony's sudden passing. My deepest sympathies to Phil, Niamh, Roisin, Nessa and Sinead at this very difficult time for you all. My heartfelt condolences to Cannon Michael, Tommy, Eleanor and the entire Joyce family. Tony was such a beacon of enthusiasm anytime we met. I greatly enjoyed reading his article in the Western People in October which he penned on the Knockmore GAA celebrations. A legend on the pitch himself and a winner for St. Nathys, Knockmore and Mayo. It has been a very tough few months for the Joyce Family with Stephen's death in the summer and now Tony's passing. Thinking of you all
— John Geary, Pontoon and Castlebar
Condolences to Phil and all the Joyce family on Tony's sad passing. He was two years ahead of me in Nathy's and I met him over the years here in Rathfarnham, especially when we both had daughters at school in Beaufort. I met him most recently in St. Enda's Park back in August/September and we had a long chat - inevitably obsessing about Mayo for Sam! Anto was a delightful man. May he rest in peace and may all of you take comfort in the wonderful memories you have of this exceptional person.

Dear Phil and all the girls, to you and the extended family please accept our sincere sympathy, thoughts and prayers at this sad, sudden and traumatic time. As was said so well yesterday Tony was a unique man and mentor to all who knew him. They broke the mould from whence he sprang. Everyone who knew him will miss him because that was the character he had. When he came into a room there was no doubt who had arrived! Energetic, vibrant, sparkling, funny and, very occasionally, just a little grumpy. Perhaps he had missed a put! Whatever the mood, you knew he was there. A legendary sportsman, on and off the field. Encyclopaedic knowledge of all sporting events, most especially his home county of Mayo - every player and every score. His acute business acumen in the boardroom is well remembered and appreciated. Above all, he truly was a gentle man. May he rest in the peace and serenity he has earned and deserves.

Sincere sympathies to the Joyce family on the sudden passing of Tony.

Tony was the captain of the Na Fianna senior football team when I first came to know him in 1976.He was an enthusiastic leader and took a great interest in the emerging football talent within the club. His stories of Foxford and Nathys and his love of Mayo made a huge impression on us young Dubs. Tony arranged summer jobs for a number of us students in Acc Bank in Hatch St. Down the years Tony kept in contact with many Na Fianna members and he always had a genuine interest in club affairs.
Tony will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Dear Sinead, Phil, Niamh, Roisin & Neasa,
My heartfelt sympathies go out to each of you on the passing of Tony. He was a true gent and a brilliant man who had a profound impact on my life, far more than I understood at the time when I worked with him many years ago. He loved to debate, hear people out, understand their point of view and drive to the right outcomes. His smile could light up a room and his presence is unparalleled to anyone I know. My heart and thoughts are with you all during these extremely difficult days.

Dear Phil, Niamh, Roisin, Neasa and Sinead we are deeply saddened by the loss of Tony. It is difficult to put into words what Tony meant to me and my family over the years. He was a great boss, mentor, confidant but most of all as a friend to me and my family for over 28 years. He was the reason I went back to college and completed my degree, the reason I moved to Rathfarnham, the reason I started to drive a car and without doubt I would not be in the job I am in today if it wasn't for what I learnt from Tony over the years. He trusted me and gave me opportunities that I may not have got elsewhere. I will really miss our chats, discussions and debates on the latest and greatest technologies, financial markets, political issues, Religion, Sport and Family. He had a great way to make everybody feel important and loved and welcome in any scenario. His memory of sporting occasions still blows me away and I am sad that he never got to see his beloved Mayo win the All Ireland. Tony, without doubt "Fought the Good Fight" and I really hope when Covid is gone for good that we can all raise a glass and share all the fond stories we have of him. Heaven is a better place today with his arrival....!
