I am deeply saddened to learn of Austin's passing and send my sincerest sympathies to the Shortt family at this difficult time.

I remember Austin from my early days working at the Sports Department at UL where we fondly referred to him as "the Bard of Thomond." Such a kind gentleman who was quite a decent sportsman himself back in the day.
