Dearest Joan,

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your beloved Barney. He was the epitome of a gentleman. Always courteous and had the most wonderful sense of humour.

Many fond memories of our time in London and Griffith Avenue. He will be sorely missed and leaves many warm memories behind him. You hold onto those happy memories and your friends and family will hold on to you.

May his gentle soul Rest In Peace and forever watch over you all.

Dear Joan,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Barney’s passing. He has long been a character who lived large in my memory. A lifelong friend of my parents (Helen and Joe) and someone whose visits I always remembered. His abiding traits were of a kind, thoughtful man who doted on you - as well as being someone with a healthy amount of devilment. My Dad and he will have a few more adventures together in heaven.

Regards,
Peter O’Donovan.

Dear Joan, we are so so sad to hear of Barney's passing. He was such a lovely person. My heart sank when I heard the news. It was only 7 weeks ago when himself and Paddy came for Paddy's groom. Paddy was a super little fella, apart form groom time - as you know Joan he'd put up the good fight to avoid it. Barney used to joke when booking Paddy in - 1 Valium for Paddy and 2 for me. We'd get there in the end to make Paddy respectable looking and Barney was always so appreciative. I used to enjoy our chats when he'd collect Paddy. Barney (and Paddy) will be missed, our thoughts are with you Joan.
— Tom Gorman Paddy's Groomer

Very sorry again about your very sad loss, Joan. May Barney rest in peace now after his long struggle with illness. He was always determined to the end to walk his dog and to live for as long as he possibly could A great friend over the long years we knew him and a patient tutor of how to play that strange mathematical type card game game where you had to be good at your sums to understand how it all worked!. May the good Lord reward Barney for all his goodness and good humour during those long enjoyable times that we all got together.
With love from Paddy and Marion.
