He had great patience when he was teaching me to drive and we had some great laughs in the process. He always had a story about the part of town we were driving through. He is truly a loss to so many people.

I wish to convey my condolences to Barry's loved ones. I did not know Barry personally but he taught my daughter to drive and she had nothing only good and kind words to say about him ...ever. The world will be a poorer place without Barry. He built a very success business and was the nucleus of the Young Irelands aside from being a devoted husband, father, son, friend.

I first met Barry over 10 years ago and I’ve such fond memories of him teaching me to drive. He truly was one in a million and made magic happen getting me to pass first time! I’ll miss running into him around the town and having the craic! My deepest condolences to Tara and Oisín, and his family and friends. Barry you were one in a million and a huge loss to the town! Barry wasn’t just a part of our bigger family, he was a great husband, a loving son, a great leader and a lot of people’s great friend. My heart is broken for Tara, Oisin, Andrew and Gareth, Nanny Monica and Grandad Robbie. I know that Monica and robbie will miss their frequent tea out with Barry, the frequent calls to their house with buns and tarts.

He genuinely is one in a million. The big gentle giant will be very much missed.

“I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style” barry sang the best, his style may be questionable with the green hat no matter what he had on. But his personality was more admirable than any style, he lead by example, he helped everyone and he was the best x
