Our deepest sympathies to Elizabeth, Johanne, Catherine,Liz,his grandchildren and siblings. Barney and I grew up in the Pound Loney in the lower Falls Road. We attended the same school and were great friends and became inseparable regularly attending dances together in Belfast in the swinging sixties. Then he met Elizabeth and that put an end to that. I didnt lose a friend. I gained a new one in Elizabeth. Although we lost touch over the years as we lived in different parts of Ireland I always valued our friendship and my friendship with his siblings.
May he rest in peace.
— John and Alice Cushnahan

Ah …so many fond memories of Barney being so involved in the things he loved, from his time at the stud on Rathasker Road, doing the odd run with him at the athletic club and him chatting about his family….and how could I forget the old Toyota Land Cruiser. He was such a gentleman, very quick witted and enjoyed snippets of humor in conversation.
Our thoughts are with the entire family.
