I knew, admired and befriended Barney as a colleague in the Trade Union movement and later had the great privilege to serve along side Barney in the Labour Court. He was bight, incisive and totally committed to the advancement of working people. He was a great and inspirational colleague and I had the singular privilege to call him my friend. I have just become aware of Barney's passing and would like to convey my condolences and those of the staff and members of the Court to the Rorke family. Barney was a gentleman to all who met him and made a great contribution to Irish Industrial relations though his membership of the Court and throughout his representative career.
