It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Bernard Hughes in recent days.

Bernard was a tremendous member of our management team for many years. From managing schoolboy, youth and junior teams to been club treasurer. We were very privileged to have a person of his quality involved in the Club.

To his wife Mary and Children Orla, Marc, David and Kara we wish to offer our sincere sympathy at this very sad time. May Bernard rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to Mary and all the Hughes family on Bernard's passing. I remember him from his years of involvement with the Ógra Chorcaí Summer Recreation Schemes where I worked at that time. Bernard tirelessly volunteered his time to raise funds, organise activities and plan away-trips for countless numbers of young people in the Togher area. He was generous always and was well respected by other Community groups through his youth work involvement. A genuine person who made a real difference and I feel honoured to have known and worked with him.
