Was so very sorry to hear today of Bernard's passing. Always cheerful and one of life's gentlemen, he was a pleasure to work with in GSK. Sincere condolences to Bernard's family at this time.
— Ann O'Donovan ( ex GSK)
My sincere sympathies to Catriona, Evan, Clodagh and the Maguire family.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known Bernard for over twenty five years, and to have been able to call him my friend. He was the most giving and kind-hearted soul that I have ever known. Bernard made time for everyone; he was good humoured and always spoke of his family of whom he was so proud. He was the most special friend that anyone could have, and I like everyone who knew him will miss him terribly.
A true gentleman!
— Nelius

Catriona, our deepest sympathies on the passing of Bernard. I met you and Bernard playing softball and the club would probably have disbanded sooner if it had not been for the ball of energy that was Bernard keeping it going. He was a natural born organiser and his enthusiasm was infectious. As a blow-in to Cork it meant a lot to me as a way to meet people. In fact, softball lead on to tag rugby which lead on to me meeting my wife so maybe I have Bernard to thank for that also!!! :-)
Evan and Clodagh, I have no doubt that Bernard was a wonderful dad and like a child himself playing games with the two of you. I'm sure you have wonderful memories of the madness and merriment of his time with you. Cherish the memories.
Take care of yourselves.
— Jim Quinn and Gemma Loftus, Co Meath.
He was taken from us too soon and will be dearly missed, he exuded confidence and care for those around him, and empowered others to be better, he lived, he laughed, he loved, and was loved, by all of us and he will never leave our memory or our hearts, Rest In Peace Bernard
— Conor
Our deepest sympathies to Catriona , Evan, Clodagh and to all his relations & friends on Bernard's untimely passing. It was a privilege to have worked so closely together in GSK, where his keen sense of humor, integrity and hard working ethic were always visible. After leaving GSK, our friendship grew further and we had the pleasure of catching up regularly right up until recently. He had the gift of making you feel better after every catch up, even when times were tough for him. Bernard will be sadly missed in the years ahead, but always fondly remembered.

Deepest sympathies and condolences to Catriona, Evan, Clodagh and all the family on Bernard’s passing. I first met Bernard when I joined GSK in 1999. His energy, enthusiasm and sense of fun was infectious. We quickly learned that this continued socially outside of GSK. We also discovered he was very brave and had no fear of heights as we took on a "project" in our garden one day with a bunch of other off duty GSK folk. Rest in peace Bernard.
