Our Heartfelt cindolances to all Bernards, family, wife Celine, sons, and daughters, grandchildren, His three brothers, Derek, Brian and Noel.We all grew up on Bluebell Road. My mam was great friends with the parents of the boys, and my two eldest brothers, John and Larry, hung around with Noel and Bernard. They were a lovely family and very highly respected in the neighbourhood. We were shocked to hear of Bernards passing as he is the youngest of the four boys. May you all find solace n peace knowing that Bernard is now painfree and at peace in the arms of your Mam and Dad.

Bernard was a great friend and neighbour to my parents whilst growing up on St Johns Park. I remember him playing guitar at one of the gatherings. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. RIP Bernard and condolences to Celine, Neil, Deidre, Ronan and Aideen.

I am saddened to hear this sad news. Bernard was a genuine guy one of lifes true gents who I had the pleasure to know in the Irish music World. We shared manys a stage during the late 80s early 90s. His passion for irish ballads was infectious. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Many memories of Uncle Bernard - but the one thing I mostly remember is his smile - despite being in ill health and struggling - he always had a smile for you. Seighin particularly loved him and loved the chats whenever he saw him. When the Trad sessions were on of a Monday night in the Brittas Inn, I loved those nights when we had Dad, Noel and Bernard all playing together. I was very proud of our talented family and their love of all things Irish. Bernard - you did us proud in every way - family, friends, music and values. I'm sure you are in heaven with Lan, having the christmas session and relieving those wonderful family moments when everyone had a party piece and stood in the centre of the room. I was so fortunate to play music with Bernard on many occasions. Bernard is one of the nicest men I ever met, together with his sense of humour and musical talent, it was my privilege to be in his company, both when playing and when in a social situation. A beautiful soul.
