Michael, you phoned me today, Dec.18, to tell me that dearest Betty left us. My heart goes out to you, Meabh, Mike and Ciaran. You were such good neighbours and friends in Frederick Avenue to my mother, Yetti Schmitz RIP. Betty never lost touch when you moved to Kildare, always including my mother for Christmas Dinner. Betty kept in touch with me after my mother died, we talked on the phone, giving me so much comfort. Betty always sent me an Irish calendar, letters and photos for Christmas. Betty was so kind, full of beans and always on the go. I’m in shock and will miss her terribly. I was going to phone her for Christmas, and go down memory lane. You are all in our thoughts and prayers, from across the miles. May your memory be a blessing. Helga & Aaron Roseman, Israel.

Betty was a genuinely warm and friendly person with a great sense of fun and adventure. We have many fond memories of her coming to visit us in Knocknacree particularly when she was teaching in Baltinglass. She was so thoughtful and kind to our Mum and never forgot her when she moved to Kildare. May she rest in peace.
