Sincere condolences to the Gilbert family on the loss of Bobby. He was an idol of my youth when I watched him from the terraces of Milton and Dalymount. Such a nice man who always signed autographs with a friendly face and joke. Great header of a ball and deserved more than one cap. May he Rest in Peace,

Our deepest sympathy to Robert & the whole of the Gilbert Family on the passing of Bobby, I have great memories of seeing Bobby playing from when I was a kid both at Milltown & Dalymount parks, he was a great striker and a very friendly person to know socially, R.I.P. Bobby.

So sorry to hear of Bobby's passing, from our early days in the "Swings" in Dock Street to watching him put away those crosses from "Maxie" McCann and Liam Touhy, a privilege to have known him. Really sorry.
