Shocked to learn of Brendans passing. The best singer by far of the showband era. His voice was too good really for the ballrooms. He could have reached way beyond them. However we were blessed to have danced to the music and stood in awe and appreciation when he sang the big balleds. As I watched his funeral mass and listened to his singing of Going Home i was once again transported to the the ballroom of romance when he entertained us with his powerful voice and his energetic performances always with such dignity and respect for himself and his audience. Thank you Brendan for the music and may you rest with your loved ones in the loving arms of your God. To Stella, Brendan jnr, Clodagh, Ashlinn,Liam and Nora and the extended family I offer my sincere sympathy.

What a beautifull Memoriam mass for Brendan Bowyer who so richly deserved it.......so dignified and religious and yet Fr Brian Darcey kept us in the moment with all our own special memories of our days dancing to Brendan and Royal Showband .Also to remember deceased members of the Royal RIP. I truely hope Brendans wife and Family have got closure now . I lost a loved one also at begining of covid and i always felt my family never got closure until restrictions were lifted . As i write this Brendan is now singing on Tipp radio ......his music lives on and never to be forgotten .He was our and is still our KING.
