So sad to Read of Brendan's Passing r.i.p,I always loved Running into him In Eyre Square on my Return Visits,We always had a great Laugh,He loved The Craic so Jolly and mad about the GAA-Galway has lost a True Gentleman-you will be missed Brendan.

Brendan was a loyal servant of ISPCC helping out at Churchgate Collections in Galway. The words “don’t pass me” was his favourite expression. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

You never took any communications courses, because you were constantly giving them!
You never noticed race or creed, but just another heart to love.
You didn't need virtual friends on Facebook, because you made and treasured so many real ones.

So sad to no longer have Brendan gracing our city and county and sprinkling his wonderful character wherever he went. I first encountered Brendan delivering hot dinners daily to our 4th class teacher in Scoil Fhursa, Iníon Ní Ríardán direct from the Timree Hotel on Sherwood Ave. He has been ubiquitous in every aspect of life in Galway throughout my lifetime and will be very sorely missed. May you rest in peace Brendan.

You would be really happy with the turnout at your funeral today and we all adhered to social distancing. It was like you were keeping us in place. Truly sad to hear of Brendan's passing, he was the unofficial Mayor of Galway for as long as I can remember. A gent, a character and a huge loss to the city, county and GAA. Rest well Brendan and make sure they're all in the correct seats up there!

Rest in peace Brendan. A true Gentleman. We used to meet on the bus from Athlone to Galway when he came with his friend Padraig. He would hold the other front seat for me and we would chat all way to Ballinasloe. We met in Galway afterwards a couple of times. Always had a few words A true Saint RIP

Last few years he help us fund raise for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust and he was the main man on shop street with the bucket every Christmas.
So much goodness in him and did so much to help everyone. God Bless you Brendan .

Deepest sympathy on the death of Brendan rip. I first met Brendan in the early 80s often greeted by "Hello your highness" and always with a big smile and plenty of chat wherever that would be Roches, Debenhams, the pharmacy or at the Saturday market and on my way to work a big wave from Supermacs window. He loved Christmas and shopping for gifts bringing joy to many friends. He enjoyed party's n celebrations and especially his birthday in January. Brendan lived a very active and full life..always on the go and loved Galway and Galway loved him. Rest in peace Brendan.(BOSS) . Martina .Walsh's pharmacy , Corrib Centre.

God rest your gentle soul Brendan and grant you a heavenly home for ever which you truly deserve. Used to accompany us on the bus going to the Sound of Music in Glenamaddy keeping law and order on the bus back in the day.

We were all deeply saddened to hear of Brendan's death. We have very many fond memories of Brendan selling Daffodils outside the Imperial Hotel for the past 25 years
and nobody ever dared to pass him without buying !!! He will be sadly missed. "Daffodils Day" will never be the same again. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace

Very sorry to hear of Brendan's passing. Some great memories of selling match day programmes at Connacht championship matches in Tuam Stadium and Pearse Stadium for Coiste Peil na nOg. He certainly kept us on our toes. May your gentle soul rest in peace.

All I can say is that the Galway Novena will never be the same again! I was never quite sure if it was Brendan or I who was really leading the singing over the years, or whether to laugh or cry when I’d go out to lead the singing and see him sitting, smiling, waiting.. in the front pew!! And there will never be as many Galway Diocesan magazines sold again without his gentle powers of persuasion present! Rest in peace Boss. I suspect heaven will now never be the same again either!
