Dear Mary and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Brendan's death. He was one of life's sweethearts: kind, easy-going and gentlemanly in the truest sense of the word. I worked with him - and Conall Forbes, who told me of his death - in Anchor House when it was serviced offices many years ago. Brendan was unfailingly courteous and immensely funny: even if you were glum Brendan could make you laugh, and never at anyone else's expense. I still have the card he took the time to write on behalf of the office when I left for the US, and I laugh every time I read it. His insight was astounding.

Working with him, and occasionally having a pint, meself, himself, Conall and my then boyfriend (now my late husband) Bob was always good fun. I know he loved his family very much and I'm sure that's a comfort to you now in your loss.

God bless and I'll remember you in my prayers.

Bren a true gentleman 'gentle' is the more appropriate description. Very many happy fun times sharing office and out of the office. The simply brilliant company a total breath of fresh air. the world will be an emptier place without him.

'I bless the day I met him...'
— Conall Forbes
