I have only recently found the sad news about the death of my old school friend. Brendan was a formidable intellect, scathing of convention, and very competitive. I last saw him about 50 years ago when we met in the BBC Club when he was thinking of joining commercial tv. He kept in touch over the years, and it is my great regret that I did not make the small effort to do so more often.
I offer my sincere sympathy to Angie and their family.

Though I have not seen BRENDAN in an age he lit up our lives when I worked with him in the salmon business in Kilkerrin. His stories, intellect and above all sense of humour were unparalleled and I count myself luck to have know him.

Dear Annie and family- comhbhròn ò chroì libh. We had the pleasure of working with Brendan in ISPG, Cill Chiaràin in the late 1980s and early 1990s, they were memorable years with lots of mischief, hard work, late nights, ham sandwiches, stories and camaraderie! Brendan kept the books straight and answered many tough questions at our Board meetings, bail o Dhia air. Sorry we didn't see you in more recent times but I hope to be able to meet briefly in Monivea after the Mass. Beannacht Dè lena anam.
