Bridgid was a most dear colleague and a very trustworthy, loyal friend. Her command and love of language was truly inspirational. I will so miss Bridgid's witty comments and her most warm, heartfelt smile and laugh. I will also miss her technological advice and our lovely conversations in French as Bridgid's intelligence knew no bounds. A Dieu ma chère amie.

Deepest condolences to the Carpenter family at this sad time. Bridget was a fantastic teacher whose wit was only matched by her patience. It was a privilege to have known her.

Ms Carpenter was a joy to be taught by, inspiring and hilarious.
She had a great way with the class. I was taught by her for many years between 2004 & 2010 and she was a firm favourite amongst the class mates back then. An absolute legend and made English Literature enjoyable.
So sorry to hear of her passing. My thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues.

Will always remember our chats in the staff room. Bridget was a real professional , supported ,encouraged her students and colleagues. Will miss our chats in the Horse and Jockey where we used meet since my retirement. I felt honoured to pay her a visit in Waterford Hospital recently, so brave during her illness. Goodbye Bridget ,will miss you.

Ms carpenter, as I only ever knew her, was one of those teachers that was really passionate about what she did. She taught us more than Shakespeare or Yeats; she taught us to form opinions and debate, to look deeper into the seemingly simple, and to write poetry with passion. She cared about her students and never hesitated to offer a tissue and some kind words to anyone who needed them. The minds that she helped shape will remember her fondly for many years to come
