May his gentle soul RIP

Sincere sympathies to all Brother Smiddy's family. I have great memories of our canoeing days in the late 70s and early 80s when we built our canoes under his guidance and spent every Sunday on the rivers.
Such fun we had! He had such an interest in young people and was dedicated to passing on his vast knowledge.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I have been blessed to have travelled the world with my sport and have met countless friends through canoeing

You use to walk out to my house to help me make my first set of paddles

Your legacy will live on as my kids also canoe and know the story about who taught me the sport
