I was saddened to hear of Caleb's passing. He was a great Geography teacher & a true gentleman. He was always in good humour & very positive. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts & prayers are with Gill & the family.

Mr Powell was a gentleman who was firm, fair & gave respect when respected. I was given rugby international school boy tickets as a 13/14 year old in KH thanks to Mr Powell. Mr Powell lead by example. Rest in peace

Dreadfully sorry to hear this. Caleb was always so welcoming and helpful to us both during our time with Irish rugby. A gentleman to his fingertips, he will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him. Rest in peace Caleb, your star will always shine so bright.

Mr. Powell was Fair and Respectful to everyone who crossed his path, I recall a really decent man and I offer my condolences to his Family.

I knew Caleb as a teacher in King's Hodpital school in Dublin from 1964 to 1969. He taught me Maths and Irish also I think geography. He was an absolute gentleman during that time in my life...firm but fair and would always meet you halfway. A life well lived...May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to all the Powell family on the sad passing of Caleb. As a student in KH I always remember him as both a fair and fun vice principle, who was an inspiration in rugby and education for so many.

Sincere sympathy to all of Caleb’s family & friends at this sad time. In 1996/7 Caleb was instrumental in making the final year of my uncle (former Munster captain) Tom Cleary’s life one of joyful reminiscences & happiness instead of the probable alternative of pain and regret. His simple gesture made an enormous difference in all our lives and will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

Caleb was an engaging, committed and upstanding promoter of schools rugby. In this, and other capacities, he served with distinction. He was much respected in Munster and Irish schools rugby. He fostered camaraderie in shared projects and had a witty and fond presence. He made his mark, he gave his all. Condolences to the Powell family.

Gill, I was shocked and saddened to hear that Caleb has passed away. The number of condolences here, and their sincerity are testament to the respect and affection in which he was held by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a great friend to Barnhall, and was always exceptionally kind to me. He is a great loss to Irish rugby, his friends but most of all to you and the family. May you be comforted by the many happy memories of a wonderful life, lived to the full.

Caleb was a true gentle man and Gentleman. Many happy memories during the 1970's in KH. He indeed lived a full life and left a legacy.
