Our sincere sympathies to the Fitzpatrick family & master Fionn on the heartbreaking loss of Dara & All the families of R116. You are all in our thoughts and praying that your colleagues are returned to their loved one's very soon. Thinking of all the families & their Rescue emergency services colleagues who are hurting so much at this time also. You have touched the hearts of all.
As a bereaved mum of a newborn little man, I am mindful of how very hard it is for a family to suffer such heartbreak twice in a lifetime. You have two beautiful daughter's and sisters watching over you all from above, Dara and baby Anna are shining brightly on you and will give you strength and love to face each new day as they come and help guide little Fionn as he grows.

The following lines, composed by a Canadian pilot in 1941, are offered in humble tribute to Capt. Dara Fitzpatrick and her crew of Rescue 116:
" ... I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth,
Sunward, I've climbed,
High in the sunlit silence, Hovering there
and, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space
Put out my hand ... and touched the face of God."
- adapted from "High Flight", John Gillespie Magee.
— from Co Kildare
