Fond memories of 'Mrs Carton' as our teacher in St. Vincent
de Paul's school in Marino.
She was an exceptional teacher - entering us in the Feis for verse speaking and drama. This sparked my interest in the theatre which continues to this day.
She taught my friends, my sister and my cousin.
On behalf of all her past pupils in Marino, thank you Mrs Carton.
You will not be forgotten.
Deepest sympathy to all the family.
— Angela Donnelly
Deeply saddened to hear of the death of my great friend and work colleague from Scoil Ide, Raheny. A born teacher, Carmel was inspirational to both pupils and fellow teachers alike. With her vivacious spirit and love of learning, she brought tremendous joy, energy and fun to all her daily lessons. Her patience, kindness and understanding were of the rare and true kind. Such a privilege to have known and worked with Carmel. Sincere sympathies to her much beloved family.

Mrs. Carton was such a kind, generous, patient and fun loving person who I was lucky to have met through Conor. She always had an open door policy for her son's friends and it was a miracle she put up with us all. She gave me grinds in Gaeilge to help me with my career and allowed our band to practice in her garage. Herself and Derek were such an inspirational couple. She was truly a lady and will be sorely missed. Sending deepest condolences to Conor, Brian, Denis and Ronan. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.

Very sorry to learn of Carmel’s passing. She was such a lovely friendly lady who always loved to stop and chat even in latter times when out for walks with her carer. She was always so interested in, and would like to keep up to date with, what everyone was doing. May she rest in peace now reunited with Derek. She will be missed in the neighbourhood. Sincere condolences to all the family.
