It is with immense sadness that I learnt of the passing of my former French teacher Mrs O Farrell. It was obvious from the start that she was a born teacher who instilled her love for the subjects she taught into those lucky enough to have attended her classes. I still remember how she went above and beyond the call of duty when it came to giving extra classes to those such as I who found the language challenging from a pronunciation viewpoint and the fact that I graduated from UL with a degree in French is a huge testament to her endeavours. My sincerest condolences to her family, past pupils and teaching colleagues on their immeasurable loss. May Carmel now sleep in peace and may those closest to her forever treasure the trove of memories I've no doubt she left behind. Nulli Secundus.
