Carmel was an exceptional woman with a big heart, and lit up any room she entered. I think often of the warmth and kindness she showed me while she was my manager at the HSE, and was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. The love she had for her family and granddaughters was endless, my deepest sympathies to you all.

I am utterly sad and broken hearted to hear of Carmel's passing. Carmel gave me my first role in the public sector and is the most memorable mentor I have had. Carmel's drive and determination was beyond admirable and the world has lost one of the hardest working people I know. Greater than Carmels stratespheric determination was her love for her family and she was always one for sharing just how much she adored her family. I would say rest in peace now Carmel however I know where ever you are you are whipping everyone into shape as I type.
