I am so sorry to hear of Carmel's passing. I know her for her help with students in the school and she was always so kind and welcoming and helpful and always cheerful on the phone. My sincere condolences to her family and the staff of CER. Many she rest in peace.

Carmel was a total professional as she served a whole school community for over 40 years. She had a big heart and cared for staff, parents and especially students in a wonderful way.

She brought us from the dark ages with mountains of paperwork into a computerised era. She was ahead of her time in this regard.

She worked effectively with a variety of principals with different leadership styles. She was always open to changes that inevitably came.

Carmel brought a warm, gentle and very steady presence to everyone who passed through the school. Parents, staff and students knew that she cared. She was a people person.

Carmel was always ready with a song when the occasion demanded. She always held on to her deep West Cork roots. She was of the land and of the sea.

Most of all she loved her family

I am deeply saddened at her sudden death. May she rest in peace!

So very sad to hear of Carmel’s untimely passing. Having worked with her for over two decades I will miss her lovely smile & cheerful voice on the phone whenever I called down to the office. Nothing was too much trouble for Carmel & she has done so much for me over the years. I will not forget her. Condolences to her family who she often spoke of so proudly. RIP
