It is with great sadness to learn of the sudden and untimely passing of Carol. We offer our sincere and deepest sympathy to all of Carol’s family,Nigel, Linda and Hazel and grand children, to all of her siblings and the extended Mc Namara and O’Hanlon families.
I have known Carol and her late Husband Eddie for all of their Married Life , and remembering them with great affection as a classic Athlone young couple in their early married life in the early seventies only to be shattered by the untimely passing of Eddie at 41 years of age in 1987.
It was alway’s a pleasure to meet them during their lifetime and later meeting Carol throughout the Town following Eddies passing, A remarkable person for the great care she gave to Eddie during his terminal sickness and in rearing her young family with great dignity and resilience in the aftermath. Carol took great pride in her home and family, and alway’s looked her best.
Remembering Eddie also with great affection through his love of music and with his colleagues in the “Monkey’s showband”/ Wagon Wheels, through his work in the construction industry in his “ Yellow J C B”, Meeting him on the site he purchased in Newtown Carbery and discussing his” Dream House, And the great help he gave me building my home in Coosan in the mid seventies, and the installation of our group water scheme in the “Big Hill”.
Remembering the deceased members of the Mc namara family at this time also.
