Remembering my wonderful cousin Catriona with love. Sending my sincere condolences to Terence, Chloe, Niamh and Sarah.

“Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.”

When we run into the day, when the farewell, is an eternal farewell of what was the life of a soul so dear. To tell you goodbye, leave a void of that indelible mark of what you meant in our lives.

To tell you goodbye means an unattainable, nonexistent and unimaginable distance. It means not finding you more than in our hearts and the memories of our minds and past stories.

To tell you goodbye means seeing your family and friends, gathered in your name with tears in their eyes and voices of grief. It means accepting the duel, the deep sorrow, in all those who knew you and lived the joy of being part of you and your life.

May God give your soul eternal rest and strength and comfort to your loved ones who today bear the great pain of your departure. We will live in the light of hope that at the end of the days, we will meet you again and rejoice in the love of eternal life that God left us as a promise.

May you rest in peace, Catriona Boland.
